SERVICES OVERVIEW

Software development services

We provide software development and related technical services for clearly defined business requirements.

OVERVIEW

Work may cover a complete application, a specific feature, an integration, a modernisation project or ongoing improvements to an existing system.

DEFINED SOFTWARE SERVICES

Choose the service that matches your requirement

01

Bespoke Software Development

We design and build software for a client's specific operational or service requirement. This can include workflow applications, internal tools, data-management systems, dashboards and purpose-built digital services.

What may be included:

  • requirements analysis;
  • solution and data-flow planning;
  • interface and application development;
  • database development;
  • user access and permissions;
  • testing and defect correction;
  • deployment support; and
  • agreed technical documentation.

How we charge: Bespoke development is charged through an agreed fixed project fee, milestone fees or time-based development rates. A paid discovery stage may be required where the full scope cannot be established at the outset.

02

Web Applications and Business Portals

We develop browser-based software that enables authorised users to complete tasks, manage information or access a digital service. Projects may include internal applications, client portals, supplier portals, administrative dashboards or account-management tools.

What may be included:

  • responsive user interfaces;
  • secure sign-in and role-based access;
  • forms and workflow functions;
  • dashboards and reporting views;
  • administrative controls;
  • database and API connections; and
  • release and hosting-environment support.

How we charge: Work is priced by project, milestone or agreed development time. Hosting, domain, licence and third-party platform costs are stated separately where they apply.

03

API and Systems Integration

We develop and configure software connections that allow approved platforms to exchange information. Integration work can reduce duplicate entry, support workflow automation and make data available to authorised systems.

What may be included:

  • API design or implementation;
  • connection to documented third-party APIs;
  • data mapping and transformation;
  • authentication and access controls;
  • scheduled or event-based data exchange;
  • integration testing; and
  • error handling and technical logging.

How we charge: Integration work is charged as a scoped project or on a time-based basis. Any charges imposed by third-party systems, platforms or data providers are not included unless expressly stated.

04

Software Modernisation

We assess and improve existing software where a client needs better maintainability, performance, usability or compatibility. The appropriate work depends on the condition of the current system and the access and documentation available.

What may be included:

  • technical assessment;
  • code or architecture improvements;
  • framework or dependency updates;
  • interface redevelopment;
  • performance investigation;
  • replacement of defined legacy functions;
  • data migration support; and
  • staged release planning.

How we charge: Modernisation normally begins with a paid assessment or discovery stage. Subsequent work is quoted by phase, fixed scope or agreed development time.

05

Testing and Quality Assurance

We test defined software functions against documented requirements and record identified issues for correction. Testing can form part of a development engagement or be commissioned as a separate technical service.

What may be included:

  • test planning;
  • functional and regression testing;
  • browser and device checks;
  • integration testing;
  • defect reporting and retesting;
  • release-readiness checks; and
  • support for user acceptance testing.

How we charge: Testing is charged as a fixed work package or according to the agreed time spent. The test coverage, environments and acceptance criteria are documented before work begins.

06

Support and Maintenance

We provide contracted technical support for software within an agreed service scope. Support may cover investigation of reported faults, routine updates, maintenance releases and a defined allocation of development time.

What may be included:

  • issue logging and investigation;
  • correction of reproducible software faults;
  • dependency and compatibility updates;
  • minor improvements;
  • monitoring review, where configured;
  • release support; and
  • scheduled technical review meetings.

How we charge: Support is provided through a recurring monthly or annual fee, a prepaid allocation of technical time, or separately authorised time-based work. Response targets apply only where they are expressly included in the support agreement.

CLEAR SERVICE BOUNDARIES

Service boundaries

The precise technology, deliverables and responsibilities vary by engagement. A listed service does not mean that every related function is included automatically. Work begins only after the applicable scope and terms have been accepted.
